I'm glad to see that many people appreciate his music as much as I do.

Can't think of a better thread to write my first message :D

As an introduction on myself I can say that I'm 19 years old, live in Denmark and have played for 3 years, bass 1/2 a year before that. My main guitar is a Custom Shop '69 Relic Strat from the Time Machine series, I play it through Vox and Fender amps. I play bass for a friend of mine in a mostly acoustic band but prefer the guitar. I play trippy psyche outs and Gilmour inspired 'bluesy' bits

I can't think of a guitar player with a better tone than Gilmour. And it doesn't matter what album you take, you've never heard anything like it, it's amazing
Animals, Wish You Were Here, Meddle and Atom Heart Mother is a guitar legacy to be very proud of. My 4 favourite albums, add On An Island to make it a top 5 (yes I'm a BIIIIG fan:oops: )

And just to add a little to the ever ongoing Gilmour vs. Waters fight, I define Pink Floyd more by Gilmours guitar than Rogers lyrical concepts.

David Gilmour is one of the great Stratocaster players.
I'm not into ''who's the best'' but more in a great sound and soulfull
playing.

Peter

True:D But gilmours own view on it is that he's not good technically and can't play fast, he can do his tthing but that's about it. He can only play Gilmour
thats why we love him. The same goes for every1 else, we love them for what they play, not because their songs sounds harder to play than some other ones
