I have a 1983 strat that is cream in colour, has the correct markings etc however it has only 1 volume control and 1 tone control. also the socket for the lead is not in a cutaway but where the other tone control would be in the guard? I bought this in usa about 10 years ago? any ideas? I have never seen one the same? cheers

Yep that's how they made them in 1983. I think that might have been the ONLY year they made em like that.

If my memory serves me correctly they were like a cost cutting excercise at the end of the CBS era. Hence the single tone knob and no angled jack socket.

I'm sure one day they'll probably be worth a fair bit due to only being made for a short time.

Hope this helps.

It's just a Standard Strat, it replaced the "Dan Smith" Standard Strat. I remember someone saying it was worth $1200-1500.
