Considering the price is in the $500 range, I'm assuming they're MIM.

Yeah I agree with TGS on that. I could be wrong. I have looked at the specs and think it is going to be a winner. I cannot Waite to try one out. I am considering getting one because I have been looking for a HH guitar and I love Strats.

i find it hard to believe MiM as the pricing is lower than the current MiM Standards, i don't think Fender would do that, that leads me to believe something akin to the Squire line,

we'll have to wait and see if someone comes back from a store and tries one,

No, it's MIM, there's no doubt about that. They're currently cheaper than the MIM standards because right now the MIM standards are too expensive :P (I remember them being $400, not 500).

The Blacktops are made in Mexico. They don't come with a gig bag added to the price, which is a good thing because that's $40 I always refuse to spend.

They're quality guitars. A Sonic Blue Blacktop Strat jumped onto my lap the last time I was at Guitar Center and it ended up coming home with me. It's strange playing a Strat with two humbuckers, without a middle pickup but I think I can adjust. :)

Honestly I do not care about which country they are manufactured as LNG as they play and sound good. I agree with the other person about the "gig" bag. I have 3 of those things and never use them. I would rather spend money on a good case.

I cannot wait to get my hands wrapped around one. I want to see if this is my next new guitar. It has what I am looking for on paper, let's see I'd it is as good as it reads.

The orignial was "The Big Apple Strat". Not a new concept to Fender, just a new wrapper.

Hi, Doc. I remember the Big Apple Strat and the Double Fat Strat that appeared a few years later. I probably thought they were abominations at the time.

Hmmm, I bought a Stratocaster with two humbuckers and no middle pickup and traded for a 50's Tribute Gibson Les Paul Studio with two single coil P-90s the past two weeks. My 6 string universe has been turned upside down and I like it.

Cheaper than MIM Standards? Wow, that's really good. Too bad I'm not into humbuckers. P-90s are great, I have a Les Paul with one in the neck and a humbucker in the bridge. Nice combination.

I was looking for a HH Fender with a trem system too, fortunately by chance I found a bargain discontinued Fender MIA HH Strat. So I won't be buying one anymore, but they do look pretty hot!
