Hi everyone.
My dad left me a Fender Deluxe 8 String Steel guitar. I have no idea of the replacement cost for this guitar. (on the market or for insurance purpose) It is in better than good shape with very few dings. The cream finish has aged beautifully to the classic yellowish hue. The case is in better than good shape. The serial number I found below the bridge string cover is 2487.

I am having a problem attaching a picture to this post. Any hints to doing this? If not I would be happy to e-mail a few shots.

Sorry I can't help you with the year but a Deluxe 8 from 1950-69 would be worth between $1,000 & $1,250 unless it was a '70-81 where the value would be from $875-$1,275.Judging by the colour you described it's most likely pre 70.
