I fail to see why a group of people or a couple of individuals can not discuss any subject without coming to battle situations.
Opinions, bieng what they are, are just that and should be shared and accepted as the individuals right to his position.

An opionin stated is merely a viewpoint and not an earth shattering event.
Generally, religion and politics are topics thet seem to rile.
Both have started wars, though I do not understand why they must.

No more so than whether one likes a Les Paul and another swears by Telecasters.

Since I'm not a believer my 335 or any of my gear are immune to any curses :P it will continue to play amazing Blues tones and there aint nothing you can do about it

ah i see, i will have my hatian add to this curse and his

1 broken 45 of george clinton's flash light, 1/4 cup of new coke from the 80's, and a half worked rubics cube)

i completly respect other peoples views and beliefs, but all of the mainstream religions are man made..

they all have one thing in common, they take power away from YOU! you are powerless and that is not true.

religion was made simply to divide and conquer, because once divided people are very easy to control... it was the romans main tool.

i am very spiritual and beleive in afterlife, i believe in karma, i beleve in morallity, i beleive in multiple dimentions of creation that our 5 senses just cant pick up, yet. and i dont pretend to know how this crazy little circle we call the world started, but i sure am not gonna beleive what our goverments brainwash us with the minute you get to infancy. its such a deep conditioning that if my life was on the line i would probaly ask ol god to save my sorry $@! not that i beleive he would its just wired into us, but if i was born 3000 miles further east it would be buddah or allah wired into me, com on,

its all bolloks written by very clever controlling monarchs, roman aristocrasy and leaders....... through out history... our true heritage and history are constantly covered up and ignored as it would empower us to much....

but beleive what ya like, just dont push it on anyone or hurt anyone and we will all be just fine

No I don't believe in the 6th, 7th, 8th or any number of pillars... again, the focus in this thread should be on whether you believe in God or not.
But the five original pillars are essential in muslins belief in God but many believe the 6th. pillar is islamic jihad as the kharijite. To negotiate between peoples is a sin and only god can decide through war.

There are 200 billion stars in this galaxy...

... and they all obey the same laws of astrophysics and are made of the same stuff from the "Big Bang" (not really accurate metaphor), 13.7 billion years ago.

So if this creator is perfect then we should all only accept the first monotheistic religion, which is Judaism :) I mean why is it ok for Christianity or Islam to come after the "original" and be accepted by so many?

Actually, Christianity and Judaism are essentially the same religeon. Keep in mind that Christ, himself, was Jewish. The "old testament" that Christians utilize is called "the Torah" for Jews ... same document. The only difference between the two religeons is that the Messiah that was prophesized to come is believed to be Jesus for Christians ... while Jews think the Messiah has yet to come.

16 Votes Yes,

9 Votes no.

9 Posts in this thread stating Yes I believe (with or without explanation)

0 Posts in this thread stating No I Don't.

It intrigues me that people feel the need to vocalize their belief, while those that dont believe feel no need to vocalize the fact that they dont. It seems many people that practice organized religion feel the need to vocally reaffirm their beliefs in public, while a much fewer amount, that don't believe, don't feel the need to go around telling everyone they're a non-believer.

Religion by its very nature is an extremely personal relationship between someone and their god.... why do you want to make something so personal so public for everyone to see ?

Neil Peart of Rush is constantly writing songs about why he is an atheist (Freewill, Ghost of a Chance, Faithless, BU2B, etc...). Do you question his need to vocalize his lack of belief?

I answered Yes. No debate. Just Yes.

There are estimated to be about the same number of stars in the observable universe...

I was digging through the threads and found this one. Somehow I missed it before. Anyhow, I find the question very intriguing, as so many people paint guitar players, especially electric guitar players, as atheists or Satan worshipers. Then I look at this poll as see a lot of you do believe in something, or some sort of higher Being. I have not rread the whole thread, but plan too, as it should be interesting since it is a HOT topic! LOL!

I can honestly say I was an atheist when I was a kid, but then my brother and I started dabbling into the occult sciences. We had things happen that were supernatural. It was not drug induced, or our imaginations. We both had things happen, sometimes while we were together, sometimes while we were apart. It cause us both to start looking to somehow rid ourselves of these harassments, and to be on the right side of the seemingly supernatural war going on. This lead us through everything from Yoga, I-Ching, Zin-Buddism, to looking at various Christian beliefs. Today I am a Christian and I am not ashamed of it. I can contribute most all my success in life from that as well.
