Quite nice to meet you Gigfin, and great entrance :P Quite funny that someone such as yourself who has played for 45 years is a hobbyist on this forum ^^ Look at it this way, at least you don't have to put up with all the pressures and expectations of being a rock star :P

That being said, I can bend strings over 3 whole tones with any gauge string, I just use my whammy bar, I can play chords that span over 7 frets (So long as one of the strings is open), I have regular size ears that can learn most tunes after hearing it once and then hearing the sheet music, and always give compliments to myself ^^ Pleased to meet you sir and welcome to the Forum 8)

I've been called worse things than a hobbyist.

There are a lot of very fine folk around here. You'll learn that quickly.
Please stick around, there are many here learning about guitars and you obviously have much to offer.

I can do Pete Townsend windmills, Pete Townsend destroy my guitar moves (never tried but I'm confident in my abilities), I won't do back flips off my amp, its too small and with herniated disks in my lower back probably not a good idea. I'd work on my splits and knee slides but no point, I'm too old and the pretty girls would think that is just too funny.

I know 12 bar blues as well, bought the book Hal Leonard, Introductory Learn the Blues. Moving on to a few tunes, Boom Boom, Fade Away, Born Under a Bad Sign, I'm Tore Down. Soon I'll retire or go part time and have lots of time to learn and get better, one thing in life I really want to accomplish.

At least my posts are just long-winded, not arrogant and obnoxious.

There was a guy with this attitude in one of my bands once. We broke up the band and re-formed (without him) under another name so we wouldn't be associated with him in any way.

Every problem has in it the seeds of its own solution. If you don't have any problems, you don't get any seeds.

My instructor teaches a simple attitude to life:

Take the attitude of a beginner to everything you do - enjoy the pleasures of discovery and learning new things. Don't feel embarrassment because you're "supposed to be better at this".

I have no good reason for posting this :D

Its all showbiz, It doesnt matter if ya get a negative or positive reaction. As long as your getting the attention. Now that Ive gotten your attention and pissed ya off, made ya laugh or pray for me, your going to b interested in what comment I'll make next. Unfortunatly I learned that too late in my life. Not like somebody like Hetfield of Metalica. He was a master of pissin people off. Look where it got him. Brilliant Dude.

I take on the attitude of a beginer every time I pick up the guitar. Thats where the fun of it is. Having a goal of learning something new and one can play it anywhere. EVH said He developed his tap chops sitting on the crapper.

Cmon lads lets have a bit more compassion and forgivness about us eh?

The bloke landed on the forums and proceeded to carry on like 90% of the members of other forums. Realized it didn't make any headway here and was big enough to admit his fault.

Live and let live eh, we all $@!& up at some time or another.
