Fender Blues,Jr arrived yesterday.
In another thread, I said I liked the Blues, Jr. but would not trade my peavey Classic 30 for one.
Turns out, I did not have to.
Now I have two great amps.
It had been so long since I had played my original Blues Jr., I had forgot how much I liked the tone.
The difference is my first Jr had the tweed cover and the Jensen speaker and was made in California.
This one is the made in Mexico version with the Fender speaker.
A speaker exchange may be in the future.

Blues Jrs. are great little amps.I bought mine when I was trying out a guitar,I wasn't even intending to buy an amp but when I heard the Jimmie Vaughn Strat through the Blues Jr. I had to have the amp too.I tried several Strats through the amp and it really enhanced the Strat's already great tone.Congrats on making such a good choice.I guess we won't be hearing much from you over the next few days as you won't be able to get away from the amp.

Is that a 12" that's in the Blues Jr? If so and you're still planning on swapping it out, go and get yourself a Eminence Red, White, and Blues. I put one in my Fender Frontman 65R and it made the amp come alive.

It is a 12 in.
It is an Eminence I believe produced for Fender.
I am looking at several of the Jensen speakers,
The downside of swapping speakers is I bought this amp because the Peavey was heavey to carry.
If I change speakers, any I would put in would add more weight to the Blues JR.

That's one of the indicators of getting old; buying an amp based on weight instead of tone or looks... Just kidding!

I have often wanted to get a smaller amp with less weight (and wattage, too) since I injured my neck & shoulder three years ago. My 63 Re-Issue Vibroverb (40W brownface 2x10) isn't terribly heavy, but it got significantly heavier when I replaced the original (blown) oxford-style speakers with some Eminences.

Good for you, I hope you enjoy your new amp!
