Today is my oldest daughter's 31st birthday, although it never affected me before this one in particular makes me feel like Methusela. I can't imagine how old I'll feel when they start bringing home grandkids.Anyone else get that oldtimer feelig on their kid's birthdays.

I know how you feel, GS. Our daughter gave birth to our first grand-child this spring. To commemorate this blessed event I had a neck plate stamped with little Aria's birthdate (formatted as a quasi-legitimate Fender serial number). It'll soon be installed on a Caramel Metallic Powerhouse Strat that I recently acquired. Times such as these remind us of our own mortality but long after I've departed this rock somebody will still be playing that guitar.

Hang in there, sport.

Arjay

Rather, "experienced, "traveled," "veteran," "learned," "wise," "practiced."

'Was working with an Integrative Medicine MD on a writing project; she was 84, still practicing and believes, if we do lots and lots of serious care-taking and preventative and triage on our bodies, they usually have somewhere between 120 and 150 years in us. (Heck, 47 was lifespan in US A in 1900)

And fave question for folks when we begin talking about age:

"What age would you BE, if you did not know what age you ARE?"

Our first grandchild last year...wow.

Now I feel old too. And yet 20 years ago I didn't. Odd.

And seriously. I never had children and now it's pretty much too late. Strange thing is that is what makes me feel old.

Something to do with options closing down as the years pass, I guess.

No. I get that feeling every day. But my grand son, 18 months, is a lot of fun.

What gets me is how fast time goes by,like the last 20 years,I think back to when I was in my mid 30s and it doesn't seem possible that I have kids in their 20s/30s now.
My granny always said, the older you get the faster time goes.

It is great to hear you youngsters talk about age.
My oldest grand son is 26 and the youngest is 11.
My oldest son is 48 and the youngest(daughter) is 37.
Noah bought all his ark supplies from me.

She's right! It's because when you are young you only have a few dates during the year that are important, your birthday, Christmas, summer vacation and the time between these celebrations is very long... but as you get older you have more dates that are important... your b-day, wifes b-day, kids b-days, grandkids b-days, anniversaries etc and the time between them is shorter and the year just seems to fly by. That's my theory anyways.
