I have been searching every SRV site I know of. I have made an inquiry to one of them. I'll let you know what I hear back.

That is really cool, I'd hang on to it if I were you. :)

Are there any markings at all on the box that might indicate where it came from?

Aside from the box is there anything else about it you can tell us? What is on the discs?

It looks like someone was just a big fan of SRV, had some mad wood working skills and a lot of time on their hands...if it were a limited edition box of some sort, it would be listed in the Epic record label archives (does Epic even exist any more? :? )

I would keep it if I were you.

Call Sumter Bruton at Record Town in Fort Worth, Texas; he has access to every weird little anomoly ever produced by record companies. He tracked down cd versions of the Moving Sidewalks "Flash" album and the American Blues "Is Here" album--they had small cardboard covers that looked exactly like the original LP artwork.

He would probably be able to find the history of the box. especially if you can e-mail him a picture.

Sumter is an amazingly cool guy; jazz, swing and blues guitarist extraordinaire, musical historian (especially Texas music and Fort Worth music), and older brother of the late, great Stephen Bruton.

Also, you might call or e-mail Forever Young Records in Grand Prairie. I don't know the guy's name, but he looks like Grog from the comic strip BC; he knows everything Sumter doesn't (between the two of them, their knowledge is irreplaceable).

Happy hunting!

I have all of SRV's cd's and dvd but I would still buy that wood box set just to get the custom wood box!
I think it is neat!
