Just because it's easier, doesn't mean it's better. Trust me kids, buy a tube amp, buy some pedals, twiddle with the knobs and experiment. The sound you develop will be much more satisfying than the prepackaged stuff you get in a modelling amp.

Oh Boy!!! A 57 Deluxe, Bassman and Twin all in one box. LOL Looks like a GDec without the backing tracks. None of my GDec amp models are even close to the real thing and all the effects are pretty cheesy. Preset sounds usually sound like arse just like in the demo. The amp is inexpensive though. Watch the SS watts too. My 74 Champ cuts way better than my 30 watt GDec.

Seriously boys and girls, listen to mthorn00 and get a real tube amp and a few pedals.

I need a new amp, i was looking at this one but your post and the general agreement of it made me want a tube amp. my budget is about $250 any suggestions on amps that are tube amps, at most 25o dollars and sound good?

Thanks guys.

Peavey makes some really outstanding all tube amps at a very reasonable resonable price point. Check out their Valveking series if you get the chance. Carvin amps are my personal faves and weapon of choice, but their more expensive.

You can pick up pretty decent used tube amps in the $250 price range so that's another option you could check out.About 8 yrs ago I bought a '69 Bassman for $200 and it's a real killer so there are bargains to be had.
