Maria is still pissed that Buddy had hired a divorce attorney before he left on the last tour.
Wow...talk about holding a grudge.

If they're looking for a place to put it,I'd be proud to have it on my lawn.

Richardson had developed a case of the flu during the tour and asked one of Holly's bandmates, Waylon Jennings, for his seat on the plane; Jennings agreed to give up the seat. When Holly learned that Jennings wasn't going to fly, he said, "Well, I hope your ol' bus freezes up." Jennings responded, "Well, I hope your ol' plane crashes." This exchange of words, though made in jest at the time, haunted Jennings for the rest of his life.

I know,I've been surprised at that too....two people that I have met in my life that kinda made me a little starstruck were J.I.Allison and Joe B. Mauldin, because they were there with Buddy....I mean they were R&R pioneers. 8) and both were really nice guys.
With all the flash and skills that guitarists have exhibited in the years since, some thumb their nose at Buddy, sure he played a basic type of music, but man,he was cool in my book.

I loved Buddy's guitar playing such as the cool lead break on Words Of Love,it may not have been overly complicated but it sounded better to me than anything that Yngwie Malmsteen has put out.

I've noticed that when we bring up "Icons" we really don't get a whole lot of comments???
