The City of Bedford, Texas puts on an annual two day blues festival. There is a great line up of regional bands and they bring in some hired guns from out of town. Last year it was Buddy Guy. The headliner Saturday night was Robert Cray. I went Sunday and heard Buddy Whittington and Taj Mahal. Buddy is a local guy, but tours alot and plays with people like Gary Moore.

Buddy played a three color sunburst strat with a rosewood board for the whole show. He did not switch guitars for two slide numbers. He uses a glass medicine bottle. He used a Dr. Z head and cab. He had great tone and plenty of note definition. The other guitar player in his band is Mouse Mays and the guy really ripped it up. He used some sort of a guitar with a lot of Fender features. I don't know if it was a partscaster or not. He had two Marshall cabs with what looked like a Marshall head (no logo). He got more midrange that Buddy. A good sound for sure. Here is a little sample of Buddy:

Taj put together a show that was just unreal. He had two horn players (trumpet and sax) along with keys, lead guitar, bass and drums. Taj did stand up vocals harp and guitar. One guitar he used looked like a triple O Martin with a slot head. He ended the show playing Corrina on it. It sounded like he had some chorus on the guitar to me. What ever he did, it was great.

The mayor of Bedford said that they would do it again next year...I may try to catch both days. :D
