Well doctor's orders. I mean doctor Claude, not even close to my birthday. Today I pulled the trigger for this beauty.

I also bought this small room practice amp.

I made a serious research and after a lot of websites, I also made a bass guitar demo spree in the three bigger guitar center around here. Seriously I must have tried at least twenty bass guitars ranging from $200.00 to $1300.00 CAD. I couldn't resolve to order and wait for months, plus risking to pay more because of the market fluctuations and the change rate. I decided to go for the MIM because the price was right $740.00 CAD and I already own a MIM Strat, so I know about the quality from experience, plus, it had to be a Fender because I'm probably just an old fashioned guy. Finally I chose this guitar because of the tonal possibilities of the two pickups and the five strings. And I don't want to start a bass guitar buying addiction, one is enough. For the amp, I chose to stay safe at a low volume level with a base entry level kind of cool little amp. One that might be upgraded later if needed. Wish me luck because now I have to learn how to play the damn thing. Hey LadyVendettaAngel, I was thinking about you sometimes while chasing the perfect beast, because you had the same experience lately. :D Well now sometimes you might find me on the bass guitar forum, more internet. I'll have to cut into that web thing if I want to play seriously.
Anyway, looking for that bass guitar and amp was a great experience and a lot of fun, I appreciate the comments I received from all the members of the coolest guitar forum on the planet, thanks a lot guys, you know who you are.
Now for the sound report, you'll have to wait until I can figure out how to plug the damn thing. See ya.

Congrats on the new bass, Claude. I've also been thinking about learning bass; of course, that will give me an excuse to shop for one  .
Have fun with it; let me know how the learning goes.

Hey Tochai, this stuff is so new to me that I can't decide on a song to begin with, maybe Stairway to heaven. Seriously, I have a regular guitar lesson scheduled next friday and my teacher offered me to switch to bass guitar lessons as I feel it, so cool. So right now I am trying to play slowly, as clean as possible to produce the best bass sound without the gigantic strings ringing on the frets. :? As soon as I can safely play songs without doing it all wrong, you can be sure that I'll have my list of favorites songs to learn. See ya. :)

Depending on how you play, on bass you don't need to be right up on the frets. You'll do fine. Have fun man.

I'm feeling a bass craving myself, I'm trying to find a cheapie so I won't feel guilty about having 5 different instruments in the house >_>

Hey Capo, find yourself a nice bass in your price range and buy it. There is nothing else to say or justify to people who don't understand why we play music. See ya. :)

Hey capo; it's good advice from Claude on getting a bass. In your price range, and make sure the neck feels right. A bass amp with a 10" speaker is a good start. Not a good plan to play a bass through a guitar amp. Have fun man.
