Just found this while searching the web. Anyone know anything about the Blacktop series? Is this just a Squier Jagmaster with mods and a fender Sticker?

$450 street sounds ridiculously low. I think they'll sell a lot of 'em.

They do look really good guitars. Its amazing what companies will give you for your money now compared to when I started playing over 10 years ago.
I was thinking of getting one of these until something else recently caught my eye :)

I took the plunge and bought a Blacktop Strat. I like it a lot. The humbuckers have plenty of high end bite and clean up nicely and the single coil tapping at positions 2 and 4 add to the Blacktop's versatility. The fit and finish and electronics are also rock solid. The fretboard edges are so smooth it feels like they were rolled.

I bought a Sonic Blue Blacktop. It's a dead ringer for my Classic Player 60s Strat except it looks like the pickguard has a gland condition. :)

And since it doesn't exist without a pic, here's a pic.

$450. The Blacktops are the same price as MIM Standards but a gig bag isn't included. That was fine with me. I don't like gig bags.

That's good to hear. So It's a good guitar, well made and sounds good? That's all I need to know. Did you try before you bought it?
