i have been listening to double fantasy a lot this week and its always an album that makes me wistful for another time. but also very conflicted.

Mostly because yes, he would have toured properly in 1981 and returned to live performance. It would have been great to see him perform all those songs live, much like mccartney performed them in the early 90's

However, would you really have wanted to see Lennon produce synthesized contemporary work during the 80's decade? Do you think he would have even lived through the 80's? He looked terribly worn out and unhealthy by 1980.

Do you think, while terribly tragic John Lennons premature death cemented his place and the beatles legacy in the history of the world? In as much as we take a living mccartney forgranted today?

What would you think about seeing a 70 year old Lennon & McCartney up on stage in 2010 performing old beatles tunes?

What was your opinion of the Beatles in 1979?

For me John Lennon was an important member in the very first rock and roll band that could be called a super group because of the musical talent of the members. Listened to his solo work on the radio at the time and he was and still is great but by the time the Beatles had split, my musical interests moved on to the next generation of artists.

he was creative in the 60's, he was creative in the 70's, so he could have been creative for the following 40's years, unfortunately we'll never know.

A few from the 60's are still making new music, i enjoy, Santana, Plant, Clapton, Dylan, Neil Young, Fleetwood Mac.

correction, the early 2000's destroyed rock music

the 80s shot it but it survived the initial wound, then the infection killed it in the 2000s...

The early 2000s very nearly revived rock music, there were some great bands going in 2003-2004, most of them are still going, just a little less mainstream.

AP - John Lennon's killer was again denied parole in New York, nearly 30 years after gunning down the ex-Beatle outside the musician's New York City apartment building.

Chapstick is intelligent enough to know that if he was ever released he'd never be safe no matter where he went.

Agreed...and Yoko would NEVER allow parole.

wasn;t a fan of the beatles or john or paul as individuals, but it is always sad when someone talented dies too soon.
