Last night on Deep Tracks on Sirius they played Golden Earring playing an unplugged version of Twilight Zone to say it was incredible wouldn't be doing it justice, the lead breaks were some of the best acoustic playing I've ever heard simply brilliant.I have to get a copy of the DVD or Cd if available.Today I picked up a Beatles video that I've been looking for since it came out but it's always sold out, that's The Beatles at Budokan in June 66 one of their last concerts.I've only seen exerpts of it but the playing I've seen is superb plus John and George are using their newly acquired Casinos-another great love of mine.

I don't have the Budokan DVD, but from what I've seen and heard, Paperback Writer isn't exactly what it is from the Revolver sessions. They basically admitted that they couldn't really hack it live, and took to shaking their heads and getting the crowd to scream when it came to the tougher "chorus" harmonies.

I'll bet the rest is cool though. Those white and red outfits they wore for the matinee were pretty mod.

There were 2 shows on one date at Budokan if I remember..
Matinee and evening.
The Japanese audience is very sedate at both too. The Police seem to be poised to break out in riot mode at any moment. One of the few concerts where you can hear the band.

The Fab were very "high" for the afternoon show I believe...Visine obviously hadn't been invented yet.

Nice bit of history, they were the first Rock band to play at Budokan.

That's not the exact version I don't think as the one I heard had a lot more picking and appregios etc. but that version on the video is great none the less. Thanks for posting.
