Is it possible for Fender to make an Lefty guitar with right-handed stringing without a ridiculous price tag?

Welcome to the Forum.

It would be cheaper to buy a Left Handed guitar and have a Tech replace the nut, string it upside down, then give it a complete setup.

The original Hendrix tribute guitar was in fact a lefty strung right.Where I play a lot of Jimi covers I have strung 2 lefty Strats right handed. The first was a '78 maple neck sunburst with an ash body but it weighed about 12 lbs. and was much too heavy so the second was a '00 MIM with a rosewood board and gloss black-like the first Monterey Strat and all I did in both cases was to flip the nut and reset the intonation and vibrato springs.Having the whammy up top makes a huge difference to its performance because while you're playing it's right in line with your forearm and all you have to do is just rest your wrist on it as you pick and you can get great Hendrix whammy effects while playing. With the controls up top you can change pickups while picking by again using your forearm without missing a note having to reach for the switch.Stevie Ray was quick to pick up on the whammy thing and although Jimi could have bought countless lefty Strats he stuck to the right hand ones.BTW Eric Clapton bought Jimi a lefty Strat as a gift but Jimi either never received it or used it.
