That is why I am getting a GDEC 3 30, just add my backing tracks and I am a one man band. Until then I am just doing fill in stuff. I hate how people waste other's time like that!
ABS :D

It seems to be a common thing. I was in a band where some of the players were no shows for practice. I finally quit that band. The same bunch tried to form up again the last few months saying it would be different. Again.....no shows. Set something up and they didn't show....no phone calls to cancel, nothing. I quit again.

You're not alone.

I am not sure where on the planet you are, but in my part of the world the cure for that "no show" issue is open jams.

I don't have a time to dedicate for the real band and there are ton of open jams all over the city every night of the week. There are some good and bad ones. I did find a few that I have time to go to and it is "all good". Always more than enough jammers show up for at least a power trio. If you are in/near Toronto I will tell you where are the jams.

I have tried to post my own ads but even those don't get any replies. I watch how many hits they get and still no emails. Maybe bluesy rock guitar players are a dime a dozen in my town.

Leave the ads be. Start seeking out people. Go to open jams in your area if there are any, go to venues with bands that have the same musical taste as you and ask them during breaks who they know that may be looking, etc.. Give people a chance to see (or even better, hear) you in person rather than get a reply to an ad.

best advice i've seen yet!
find some open mic nights in your area and hook up with some real people face to face.

thank you franke.

first its about safety, but i want to see if the prospect and myself click.
sure we might like the same music and have some cool like ideas, but we gotta click w/o guitars in our hands.
look, you gotta spend time with this guy/s. you gotta rely on them to
make sound decisions, not only in their own life but when standing in front of the pub owner, or the store manager, or wherever, making the deals to get us in the door to play. believe me, folks can be very different animals when outside the studio, calm and cool inside the studio but then a total wreck outside the place in their own personal lives.
one will always spill over into the other. it never fails.

i dont want to be in a situation with someone who is wavering
in their lives. im to old and serious now for that. i dont want to find myself caught up in a situation i know nothing about if you follow me.

You could also check around your local music stores as some allow customers space on bulletin boards so they can seek out others to play/jam with also many guys who work in these places know whose looking for what in the way of musicians.
