After months of using my Blues Jr. and for a year or so before that my Vox Pathfinder 15 R I decided I needed a bit more uummphh in my playing and brought up my trusty Marshall 4210 JCM 800.It's amazing what a difference a Marshall and the extra Watts makes,it's like chalk and cheese. I forgot how much gutsy ballsy tone the Marshall had because it has languished in the music room with little use for a couple of years.Although I rotate my guitars on a regular basis my amps don't get near the attention that they should. When I get the music room moved to the rec(or is it wreck ? )room and vice versa that'll change. Now how do I go about getting the half stack into the living room in the meantime without causing a nuclear meltdown?

Good on you. A big amp at low volume is especially articulate for clean melody work, in this experience.

Great move. It never hurts to turn down the volume if not needed. It just sounds better to have the power to back up the sound. Even just for practice, it sounds like you really mean it.
