Sounds like a good recommendation for a new pedal. I have been debating on the Boss DD 7 or the MXR Carbon Copy. I am going to have to do a side by side comparison soon.

I watched a video on Youtube comparing the MRX Carbon Copy to the Way Huge Aqua Pu$$ and they sounded identical. I'm still happy with my Boss DD3 though.

Yep the Carbon Copy is a nice delay pedal. It replaced the old DOD FX96 analog delay on my pedalboard because it adds no noise to my effects chain and has a better bypass. I don't use the mudulation option on my Carbon Copy since it is superfluous to me.

One word of caution to those cotemplating between the Carbon Copy and a Boss delay (or other digital delays): there is a big difference between analog and digital delays. If you need delay times longer than 600ms, tap tempo, and crystal clear repeats then the Boss might be for you. If you want old school slapback echo and don't mind lo-fi repeats for longer settings then the Carbon Copy is right up your alley.

mine's great. the only problem i have is that you can't nail an exact tempo, it's never exactly the same. which doesn't sound so bad until you're up on stage.

I love my Carbon Copy—it is one of the best delay/echo pedals on the market, IMHO. I especially like the Modulation button that adds the flutter/warble of the old tape delays.

As far as the debate of MXR Carbon Copy vs. boss dd-7, it really depends on what you play. If you play organic music (blues, rock, country, etc.) you have to go analog, which means the MXR. If you’re into shredding, metal, etc., the digital (Boss) might be better, but I’m not a big fan of Boss delay pedals.

I personally dislike most digital delays; the only one I ever liked was the Rocktron Short-timer, which was very analog sounding…but it was replaced by the Carbon Copy.
