Very sad news although forseeable.
He made among the very best guitars ever delivered by the Custom Shop.
Whenever I'll put my hand again on one hancrafted by him- I do have many- my first thoughts will go to him, then I'll hear him say" Play it Man, play it, don't let it hang on the wall"
Condolences to his Family
RIP John, your Artworks are still with us forever.
Alain
One of the last ones, if not the last one, he made, October,2006

Very sad news indeed. John was a tremendous person, and he'll be sorely missed. We are working on an article for Fender News so stay tuned.

Condolenses to his Family and loved ones.

I've never had the pleasure of playing a JE Masterbuilt myself, but the 55'P on my Custom Shop calender blows me away. Everytime I need to look at the calender I thumb through to look at it. What a beautiful example of what a SCPB should be. Truly a Master of his craft.

God Bless John... No doubt he's at peace in the biggest Custom Shop of all. Treasure his art and play them well.

Ya know, a company as big as Fender, you forget these CS axes are made by craftsmen, actual guys who are using their keen eyes and fingers and skills to craft this gorgeous hunk of magic. Their souls are in there. Fender's loss is our loss. RIP. What he knew you can't get back.
