Hi!

I was wondering if there is a site where you could date and archive your guitar. Here's an example:

2002 Fender Nocaster Custom Shop
Serial:xxxxxxxx
Date of original purchase: MM/DD!YYYY
Date of purchase #2: N/A
Owner: Original
Situation: STOLEN

Well if it doesn't exist it would be a great thing if a guitar is lost or stolen: simply enter the serial and find the history of the guitar.

Please be gentle in your comments!

Here is a great site to date a guitar with the serial number.

If every company had its own database, it could slow the industry's false. Even for the mid quality guitars.

Thanks for the mention guys.

In dbTwang we are working to develop the worlds first community dedicated to guitar protection and recovery.

Initially approaching it from two directions

1) Recording essential details. You can record a small number and up to 5 small photos free in dbTwang and with the new Guardian service (http://www.dbtwang.com/guardian) you have up to 80 fields and 25 high res photos. Only $10 for all your guitars per annum. If you join and ping me here I will add 3 months FOC for you ;-)

2) stolen alerts. We have set up http://www.facebook.com/stolenguitaralerts where we bring any and all alerts we find across the internet. We are also experimenting with a searchable version: https://creator.zoho.com/keithbohanna/stolen-guitar-database#View:Stolen_Guitar_Alert_Report_View

Welcome your thoughts and feedback - in time we will add more services to the mix to continue to make life more difficult for scum guitar thieves.
