I like it to be "fresh out the box" when I get it, but after about five years I like it to begin to show some wear, and as it gets older to get more beat up.

However if I get one that really is like my baby, pride and joy, bestest ever etc... i would like to keep it as pristine as possible, for as long as possible

I prefer my guitars to look brand new and unblemished, every guitar that I ever bought new still looks new despite years of hard playing. If I by a used guitar I expect to see some wear on it but I'd no sooner buy a reliced new guitar than I'd buy a reliced new car or house-one is just as pointless as the other.

I try to keep mine looking as new as possible, they cost a bunch, and deserve every chance to stay "new"

When I buy a guitar, I prefer it to be me mint. That way, every scratch and chip that happens to it in time belongs to me and nobody else (God forbid a scratch or chip happens to one of my guitars o_O) ^^

I've had my SG for almost 4 years and it's starting to show some wear. It definately feels broken in. The finish is wearing off where my forearm touches it and on the neck and where I strum. It probably won't be long till I see some bare wood.

Like others have said I like to buy them new and shiny and then wear them down.

I don't clean my guitars out of laziness.

I prefer mine to look as new as possible. Unfortuately you cannot keep a guitar looking new forever, but I try as hard as I can.
