I can't stand people using the words epic or fail anymore, surely people on the internet know other words.
People EQing everything to 10 on their amp.

I can't stand thread hijackers.

You're reading some useful information about guitars and next thing you know people are posting stuff about volcanoes, their love lives, stupid little in-jokes that nobody else gets, stuff about girls with sparkly dust on 'em, pictures of their pets - pictures of beer, for cripes sake! I mean what? You can't drink beer over the internet - what's wrong with these people???

Send the hijackers to sit on their own in darkened rooms; that's what I say.

Oh. Most of them probably already are...

/End rant.

Cheers - C

Yeahhh Nevin, go get 'em......

Why obsessing?... let them do what ever they want. You know "this is free country" slogan. If they feel that their happiness with their tone or a copy of someone else tone will be solved by buying more gear, so be it who cares.

I suggest you start a music gear upgrade small business, you know similar to automotive after-market. People buy used honda civic for $10K and dump another $25K on various "upgrades+soup cans" and at the end the car is faster all 5km/h and runs 1/4 mile 0.0002 sec faster but they are happy.

I loathe how the word "hater" has been manipulated in the American language. Rather than meaning someone actually "hates" something it means "you disagree with my point of view and I don't agree with you so you are a 'hater'"

I dislike how Guitar World magazine has turned into a mag for heavy metal shredding and you can't even look through 5 pages of it without seeing pointy guitars, silly hair and headbangers.

College textbooks.

There is no way in hell any textbook on psychology is worth over $150. At that price there should be an hour of therapy to go along with it to help you recuperate from the cost. Seriously, it's a bunch of paper with ink on it between two pieces of cardboard. I know I'm paying for the "intellectual property," but c'mon, writing a textbook can't be that hard, you just copy what other people have found out and put it in your own words. Half of the classes you don't even need them, the professors just lecture anyway. The other half you use it maybe twice a week, the point is when the semester ends you now have this book that is worth nothing. Despite having paid $150 for it, it is now worthless because the college adopted a newer edition of the same ****ing book. It's no wonder why college students need financial aid, we're like pinatas. We go there expecting a party, and then we strung up by the promise of a piece of paper certifying we did something while hungry children (business and economic majors who work for the university or book publisher) beat the living crap out of us with textbooks, tuition and housing costs along with other fees until all our candy (money) falls out. Then we get the piece of paper to help heal our wounds and spend the rest of our paper mache' lives trying to get our candy (money) back. So sincerely to the makers and sellers of college textbooks, go put a blindfold on, spin around 3 times, and then hit yourself in the face as hard as you can. If I'm going to drop this kind of cash on something, I should at least have some entertainment.

That's very likely because any good Irishman knows there is a much better use for a pint than staring at it's pretty colour. Beer drinking is serious business and time's awasting.

No?

I work in a college bookstore and I hear this all too often, but I do agree that these books are WAAYYY overpriced.

Lack of cell phone ettiquette. I can't stand being in the middle of helping someone and their phone rings and immediately they answer and start talking about something useless, while I stand there waiting for them to finish. Sometimes I walk away until they are done. I also can't stand seeing everyone text as they walk, sometimes 3 people are all texting while walking together! I don't anser my phone when I am being helped or purchasing something at the register. Its just common courtesy!

WORKING ON THE WEEKEND

For F*#@$ sake, I can't stand working every f^@1*ing weekend.

While it may be true that I have no life, maybe its because I keep getting F%@##d over and working every weekend / never getting 2 days off in a row.

8 weekends in a row before I got one weekend off last time... maybe I can beat my record this time...

I genuinely have had no more than 5 weekends off in the last 6 years, its getting pretty tiresome.

I get maybe 2 weekends off a year.

I love when people try get every holiday off by saying "well, I have kids and you don't"
I no longer budge, then even if i went on a huge holiday or did something major, when they ask I say i sat in front of the TV and got drunk.
