I was planning a large outdoor jam yesterday but the weather didn't cooperate,it was cool and windy and looked like it was going to rain. My nephew and the bass player from his band showed up as well as a couple of buddies so we had a little jam inside without drums but had a great time anyway.I asked my wife to get the camera but she was enjoying watching it so much that she stayed put.Last night I went and jammed with a local band that my buddy knows and they had the full set up including drums and PA,we played some John Fogerty,Joe Walsh and of course I had to throw in some Jimi and Beatles.By 10:30 my hands and back had packed it in but I was pleased that after alll that playing they weren't worse.I was the lone Strat player in a roomfull of Les Pauls but they all loved the sound I was getting from my Jimmie Vaughn and JCM800(I'll convert them to Fender men yet)the bass player had a beautiful early 70s Jazz Bass that just hammered out the lovely thumping sound they're famous for. I must have done alright because when I was leaving the lead guitarist thanked me for the "Hendrix lesson".Anyway they told me to drop by any time to jam so I'll be doing that and with any luck I'll be gigging before too too long.I'm hoping to get something together doing all British Invasion songs and at least one full set of nothing but Hendrix.
