Hello. I was wondering about hooking up a mike. I plan on getting two of them, one dynamic and one condenser that requires phantom power.

Here are the ones I plan on getting:

http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/product/MXL-990-Condenser-Microphone-with-Shock-Mount?sku=273156

Okay, let's say I want to set up in a small room live singing and playing the guitar at the same time. I got my Fender plugged into my amp.

I hook up the microphone....how? Do I need a mixer, speaker, etc? Where do I hook up my XLR cable? (I do have one with a 1/4 plug as well with a really cheap Nady but I have a converter for that cable).

Hope that makes sense. In other words, if I have a mic, where do I plug it in to sing and play at the same time (ie, also what do I need to plug in that mic so I can hear my voice)

Thanks.

They do make a xlr -1/4 instrument adapter, that will plug into you amp...
If you have a acoustic or keyboard amp, typical they put the xlr right on board. As far as a phantom power source goes, ART makes great ones for around $30 bucks. Good Luck and have fun

Can you give me a link for the ART phantom power source, please? I'm ordering stuff from musician's friend, and was wondering what that might be. (or any other site that has it)

Thanks again.
