We were lucky enough to be one of the six locations to get Ozzfest this year. The primary headliners were Ozzy, Motley Crue, and Rob Halford. Halford (I believe) played all new stuff except one really old Priest tune for the last song. He was very good with two very good guitarists. Crue put on their usual blitz, taking the stage by storm. I have become quite a fan of theirs only over the last ten years as my wife makes us see them every time they come around. I must admit that they deliver an awesome show, have a great body of music, and Mick Mars is an excellent guitar player. And then there was Ozzy ... Wow. He sounded great, and his band just killed (I really think Gus G is a great fit, and he has ridiculously good chops). They pulled heavy from the Randy Rhoades era (which I love), and played only one song from his new album. I was ten rows behind "the pit" ... it was a truly great time with LOTS of great guitar playing (and Mars as usual only playing Strats). My only regret was that Black Label Society was not on the main stage instead of DD.

just wondering....... have you read nikki sixx's book "heroin diaries"? i usually only read books on politics but a girl at work handed me this one. i finished it in 2 days. nikki "seems" to be doing better these days. he is one lucky dude.

I would have loved to go to Ozzfest, but couldn't this year.

I have not read it, but would like to (my wife did, though). Nikki's solo project Sixx A.M. did a soundtrack the Heroin Diaries that is an impressive work.
