It changes pretty regularly but right now it's between:
Tales of Brave Ulysses - Cream
A Million Miles Away - Rory Gallagher
The last song on the first Zeppelin album.

In my opinion, SRV has the best technical ability of any "guitar legend". I love all his stuff, without exception.

"Hey Joe" I love most songs by Jimi, but this one is my main pick.

Oh yeah....

Ever since the memorial for John Lennon in Central Park I haven't been able to listen to Imagine without getting a wee bit weepy.

Really too many to list. I'll start with the Derek and the Dominoes version of "Layla", The Beatles "Back In The USSR", The Allman Brothers "Blue Sky", Lynyrd Skynyrd "That Smell", and "I Know A Little", Golden Earring "Twilight Zone", George Harrison "What Is Life", and "My Sweet Lord" (LOVE the slide), Styx "Angry Young Man", and "Come Sail Away", AC/DC "Back In Black", The Eagles "Life In The Fast Lane", Duran Duran "Hungry Like The Wolf" (don't ask me why), Phil Collins "In The Air Tonight", Yes "Roundabout", Rush "Spirit Of Radio" and "YYZ", Paul McCartney and Wings "Band On The Run", John Lennon "Imagine", ......the list goes on and on.

The song that really gets me in "that mood" is Anberlin's Unwinding Cable Car. I'm a big sucker for acoustic stuff  . But the one that inspires me and gets me in a rock and roll crazy maniac mood is Led Zepplin's Stairway to Heaven. Sometimes it works sometimes not, Jimmy page is awesome. 8)

That would be Comfortably Numb... its the most gorgeous song!
but another of "those songs that get me in the mood" would be Little wing... another great, heartfelt song, and for a rocker, stairway to heaven, og guns n roses Civil war! 8)
