I'm talking about "that song" that inspires you more than any other.

Mine would have to be Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd. In my opinion, it's flawless through and through, just because it's gorgeously written both lyrically and instrumentally. It flows smoothly from one idea to the other, and not to mention the solos.

Feel free to list multiple songs if you can't narrow it down to one.

Love it! It's a shame Clapton made that sell-out slow version garbage out of it.

I guess for me it was "Sunshine of Your Love". I still love Cream's "Disraeli Gears".

In the begining , it was SRV's "Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)" from Couldn't Stand th Weather,

Right Now, Evanescence "Bring Me To Life/Touniquet" from Anywhere but Home. The segue is seamless, and the performance is POWEFUL.

Anything like 'Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay' or 'Heard it on the Grapevine', STUNNING songs with gorgeous basslines.

'Teen Town' by Jaco, and his arrangement of 'The Chicken' are two faves too.

But right now I'm feeling Blackbird by the Beatles, what a song.

Anything by Stevie Ray... :D But, I don't just look to Stevie for inspiration. Doyle Bramhall II has turned into one of my favorite guitarists. His ideas are so different. John Mayer mixes all of his influences into his music. He doesn't do straight blues, but he incorporates the ideas. Clapton is just a genius. Terrible writer, huge genius... wow, that almost didn't sound right...
