strap, pegwinder/cutter, strings, strap, fast fret cleaner, polish, cloth, truss rod adjuster, cord (well hanging outside my case in a little bag), spare picks.

I think my sanity is in there somewhere.

I have a tool box with everything you can imagine from capacitors and a soldering iron to tweezers...reason being I just keep all the parts and tools in the same box so it isn't scattered in different places.
I've always been prepared for most any emergency in life....not just music...anything from changing strings to defending myself from a rabid wolf.

In no particular order: An extra string set, a string winder, a set of wire cutters, an electronic tuner, a short cable (for the tuner), two picks, an ash tray cover, a tremolo arm, all the necessary allen wrenches to adjust the guitar, a lint free rag, the keys to the case, the OEM strap buttons, a strap (with straplocks, of course), a small bag of desiccant; "and a partridge in a pear tree".

All outright "on-the-fly" repair stuff I keep separate in a smaller tool box.

The only thing that's always certain is a guitar.

Sometimes you'll find more accessories, but a lot of 'extras' go into
a separate case such as tuner, strap(s), extra strings/pics, cables, slide, capo(s), string cutters, gaffer's tape, assorted hex/allen wrenches, etc.

I'd recommend the Sig P229 in .40 caliber S&W.

In my case I have my guitar, Strap, Tremolo bar, and a microfiber cloth. I do not put anything else in it. All my other stuff in in my bag I put my pedals in. In that bag I have:

My 5 favorite pedals including tuner, Cables, guitar cords, extra strings, a microfiber cloth, power cords, I used to have batteries but no longer use batteries, wire cutters, and capo.

Come to think of it, I have 2 micro fiber cloths I use...never thought about that. 1 is dedicated to the guitar and the other for wiping down equipment...wow.
