Hi all, I was wondering what people put in there gig/case regardless of whether you play out in a band or just at home or the Friday night jam. What are the must have's. For me a set of new strings, string winder, a little wire clipper, Capo, small flash light, extra cords, small screw driver, Large box of talent . I use to have spare 9 volt batters but I now have 9 volt adapters for all my pedals. but I do have an extra batter for my clip on tuner.... Mahalo! MarkD

To this I add a phase checker (to insure my AC power outlets at the venue are correctly polarized) and an el cheapo DVM (for minor trouble-shooting and repairs in the field).

I have just about everything and an extra for everything. Since I've been gigging much more regularly lately I can never take anything out. And the other guitarist I play with is always forgetting a capo, picks, strap etc. I'm always prepared to deal with my own stupidity plus other people's. :P

Beer, Vince's 4way socket and fluff.

Havent needed a gig bag in years. Leads all go in the pedalboard, guitarstands go in the back of the amp. Strings are in the guitarcases, slide and plectrums in my pocket.

I'm the most un-supersticious person I know, yet I have to have Vince's (crap ex singer who kept spitting his false teeth across the rehearsal room) 4way power lead. I just can't play without it. Even if I only plug the amp into it, I have to use it, I get all nervous without it and mess up loads, break strings and fall over.

I always take my Groovetech kit from Cruz Tools,it has every thing you need for quick adjustments.Spare strings-several sets and loose strings, 9 volt batteries, clean cloths, polish, picks. When I'm gigging I always throw in a soldering gun, extra cables, and spare effects just in case off one giving out-I put all of that in a separate duffle bag that I put my effects in. I also bring an extra 6 outlet power bar.

Duct tape for securing cords etc. Extra strings and picks. Power strip. Extra cords. Bug spray for outdoor gigs. Super glue (I have a tendency to tear finger nails loose from bending notes).

I have a large 20"x30"x12" Pelican flight case that houses my pedalboard, but underneath that board I keep:

Needlenose pliers w/clippers
String Winder
Set of strings w/extra little "E" (.009 or .010, depending on guitar)
2 Harmonicas, key of D & C (besides the ones in my harp case)
Small flashlight
Extra guitar cord
cable ties
electrical tape (orange)
Duct tape (orange)
Extension cord
Power strip
Shure SM58 & SM57 Microphones
$5 cash (you always need to have at least $5 cash with you)
Sharpie marker
small notebook
pencil
razor knife
2 extra patch cables
tin of chewing gum
earplugs (enough for whole band)
chromatic tuner
capo
small reversable phillips/flathead screwdriver
egg "shaker" maraca thingy
small crescent wrench (Oklahoma socket set)
Glass slide made from wine bottle
metal slide made from 5/8" deep wall socket
small bottle of Rhythmeen #13 (actually just a little glass bottle full of weird things); sits on top of amp while playing
ceramic cow's skull that sits over the jewel light on my Vibroverb and looks cool
