Time to buy a Christmas present for myself . . . because I've been good . . . and my G.A.S. needs to be relieved.

With Christmas gift certs in hand I'm looking for another stereo pedal with two modulation fx. I think I've narrowed it down to the Uni-Vibe UV1SC Stereo Chorus and the E-H XO Stereo Electric Mistress Flanger/Chorus. They're about the same price. My mind's not completely made up so if you have any suggestions . . .

Oh, wait! I need a '60s-style fuzz, too.

Back in the mid '60s to '71, I used a Vox Wah-wah as required for the "Psychedelic Music" of the times. I never used anything else. Once I put away the wah and right up to now, I use(d) nothing. Give me a great tube amp and that's all I'll ever need!

Yeah, I had a Peavey Bandit 112 and it worked perfectly. But when I bought my Marshall MA50 all I got when using the pedal was a very thin and harsh sound. I contacted Marshall and they said it was probably a compatability issue and the frequencey of the amp and pedal are to simillar???!!! I contacted Pro Co but had no reply. A friend of mine tried it on his Marshall JCM and it was fine. If you can get to try one with your amp before you buy then that's great. They are fantastic pedals and as far as I know I am the only one who has had this problem. Maybe it's something to do withthe new Marsahall amps?

Absolute favorite: Digitech TimeBender Delay
I use these often: Fulltone OCD overdrive and Line 6 MM4 for modulation effects

However, I use the Line 6 X3 Live the most since my church gig is all direct (except vocals  )

Sounds like a load of codswallop to get you off the phone to me. Rat's are meant to sound thin and harsh, aren't they? The MA50 is not really that different from any of the JCM's, certainly no more different than a JVM is. The basic layout is the same, diode clipped preamp into a bog standard EL34 power amp. Marshall haven't really deviated from that since 84. Aside from a few specialist amps like the JTM60/30's or Club and Country. Minimal changes in the output transformers, but thats about it.

Yeah, not sure what the reason is but there is definitely some sort of clash between the Rat and the MA50. I would never have sold the pedal otherwise. It was the major part of my sound.

More likely settings Mr Pink. Whilst I agree that them old Bandits were superb though much maligned amps. The preamp gain on that was a whole different affair to a Marshall amp's. The worst thing Marshall ever did was include a master volume and a high gain channel. Though they make the amps usable at home, they mislead some users. They imply that you can get the classic sound at reasonable volumes. You can't. The main complaint of there latter amps is that they sound thin at low volumes. Thing is, all of em sound thin at low volumes. The Bandit and other quality transistor amps of it's ilk were never impaired by the volume control. The volume control on a Marshall amp is as much a tone control as it is volume.
The Bandit on the other hand, set the eq up and set the volume where you like. Aside from differences caused by pushing that truely tremendous scorpion speaker, they don't change.
