Tomorrow I'm gonna try the Fulltone OCD and hopefully I'll buy it. Heard a lot of good stuff about it.

Just bought a Biyang Fuzz star. Amazing quality pedal for very low price. Great fuzz tones from Hendrix and Wood to Muse and Placebo.

I have a Digitech RP-1. It's a little older, but sounds great and has every sound effect I could ever need with the exception of a wah.

I remember them, I played em a few times but never owned one. I was far too fearful of the user interface on anything but Zoom products at the time.

Great great great sounds.

I love my Biyang Metal End. There are a lot of pedal pros who say it's cheap, but I just can't find it in myself to agree. I think it's a fantastic pedal. It has so far been the most versatile Distortion pedal I've ever used.

All pedals are cheap mate, really. They cost bulk buying manufacturers pence to make. The only difference between every £250 pedal and a £20 pedal I've seen, is the sales blurb convincing people that the expensive pedal is worth the extra money.
I haven't let cost be a factor in pedal choice for 20 years now. Couldn't be happier, it's a rip off market.

I've been looking for a tremolo pedal and was thinking of getting either a Biyang or a Danelectro. Both are inexpensive and reviews have been good for both. Has anyone out there tried one fo them? Thanks in advance.

Indeed it is. I've been dying to get my hands on a Mad professor Snow White pedal. But at $350, I'll just continue using my foot on a Crybaby.

FYI Nik: I used the Metal End for all of the solos on our album. The differences between Recession, Jah Soldier, and Sky Down kind of shows how the pedal responds well with single coils and humbuckers alike. It also shows that it's not just a "Metal" pedal. The midrange versatility is what I love most about it. In the Sky Down solo, I slammed the mids with a Dimarzio humbucker and a Crybaby, and what came out was perfect for the solo. I can't imagine it being any other way.

Here's what I got:

strat-> Digitech RP250 (the "whatever-you-need" pedal)-> EHX BigMuff w/TW (for that vintage distortion)-> EHX Freeze (the "s#$ts and giggles" pedal)-> rocketreverb combo

I'm hoping to add a EHX signal pad too, since I have the worst time with trying to stand out from the band when my solo time comes up :x But other than that I think I got my pedal set complete. (wah is covered by the RP, and I have beautiful reverb in my amp)

Smokey

That Freeze looks worth shelling out for.

With a bit of practice that could be a fantastic tool. Thats what I do like about EH. They aren't scared doing something different.

The pedal is amazing! It allows me to do stuff no one else has really done before. I think when the next semester is winding down I'll try recording some clips or songs with it and posting it for ya'll.

Both the muff and the freeze have surpassed my expectations. I love the stuff EH does- I think it would be cool to sometime get a pog or hog so I can create some organ like effects with the freeze pedal. (maybe next christmas...)

I love the freeze as well.

One of my favorite uses for it is very pragmatic. I often play as a single guitar player with just a drummer. Say you need to switch two effects on for a new section of a song but can't let the music die as you turn of one effect and turn on two more --- just hit the freeze and your sound is sustained. This gives you a couple of seconds to change FX while the freeze does its magic.

Its also great in combo with a tremolo pedal.
