John Fogerty is one of my picks too. I read a quote one time where his brother Tom said: I could sing ........... but John had a Sound.

I've always thought that John Fogerty was pretty impossible to copy, I mean when you're in a classic rock cover band as I am, CCR songs are pretty easy to play but the vocals just never cut it very well.

And Seger, tough to copy.

Freddie Mercury, obviously. That's a voice that several have tried to emulate - and come away looking very silly indeed. :D

And here's one that nobody else will mention (probably fairly reasonably). I like what Pete Townshend does on Blue, Red and Grey (on the By Numbers album) and also I'm One (from Quadrophenia). I find that sound kinda charming in its thinness. Something even a hopeless voice like mine might dream of achieving. Well; dream...

Cheers - C

+1 Ronnie James Dio-----RIP

The most powerful voice the music world may ever see....he is greatly missed. I have been "youtubing" him lately. I got to see him in 07 finally with Heaven and Hell....Great Show

I noticed you did not include Rob Halford?

I thought Ripper only hinted at him, and that is close as you are gonna get

No one comes close to Dio's piercing voice whenever he sung. He's a shoo-in for this list. Rob Halford should also be on the list. How could I forget him??! :o Definitely hard to beat the range in his voice
