When I was a young girl Jimi made me want to play the guitar. When I was born Chuck Berry was my first influence.

I can't compare SRV & Jimi I love them both.

I can't believe Jimi is over SRV. I mean SRV sounds so much cleaner and better.

He played somewhat wild, wandering around keys. If you play blues, you know that if you're playing blues in "A" then there's a particular blues scale where you solo. Hendrix didn't play by those rules.

Neither did SRV. He actually said: "I don't know what key I'm in most of the time.

If you listen to SRV, you can clearly hear Hendrix, Johnny Winter and Albert King in most of his playing. If you listen to Hendrix, all you hear is Hendrix as he sounded like no one else. I can't help but wonder what Hendrix would sound like if he was still alive today. Also, how many professionals wouldn't have had careers as so much of their stylings are easily recognizable as Hendrix's to whatever degree they are capable.

I still voted for Stevie, 'cause even though they are both talents, SRV had more than a playing style off of Hendrix's, but an ATTACK on that guitar.
