well, my tunes don't make me run for my guitar but they sure do give a boost every time i hear them.
"Star Spangled Banner" and "God bless America"
it may seem corny to some but these songs mean alot to me.

Whenever I feel a bit down I put on Voodoo Child(slight return)by Jimi and everything is fine and all I want to do is pick up the guitar and let that do the wailing.Muddy Waters' Mannish Boy also has a similar effect.

Fresh Air by Quicksilver Messenger Service.

I don't know who the dude is on lead guitar, but he puts a whole lotta soul into his notes. If I could play like that I'd die a happy man.

"Your heroes/songs that give adrenaline rush and inspiration"

hero-NOUN: In mythology and legend, a man, often of divine ancestry, who is endowed with great courage and strength, celebrated for his bold exploits, and favored by the gods

song-noun: the act or art of singing: to break into song; a piece of music sung or composed for singing;

give-TRANSITIVE VERB: 1. To make a present of: We gave her flowers for her birthday. To place in the hands of; pass: Give me the guitar

adrenaline - Noun: a catecholamine secreted by the adrenal medulla in response to stress (trade name Adrenalin); stimulates autonomic nerve action

rush-noun: The intensely pleasurable sensation experienced immediately after use of a stimulant or a mind-altering drug. A sudden, brief exhilaration: A familiar rush overtook him each time the store announced a half-price special on expensive stereo equipment.

inspiration-noun: Stimulation of the mind or emotions to a high level of feeling or activity. The condition of being so stimulated.
An agency, such as a person or work of art, that moves the intellect or emotions or prompts action or invention.

That is one loaded sentence Bro, alive or dead?

Hey everyone, thanks for the many replies, i am reading through everything and youtubing all the names i can find :D!!
I am really thrilled to see all these answers, cause it's me first topic.

@ solid body love songs, for me the answer to the topic name is Stevie Ray vaughan, mate. Now if you have a look at 'Texas flood' you'll know what i'm talking about, he's definately wordt being the answer of such a loaded sentence :).

@ everyone, what really works is youtubing live versions of songs you really like from your guitar heroes. Every live version Crossroads that john mayer plays really does it for me :).

unfortunately live isnt always good for the stuff i like... well actually, just the germs... Darby would get so f**ked up before each show that he could barely stand let alone hold a mic... and for the parts he DID have a mic.... *shudders*... it aint pretty...

buuuuuuut.... the jesus lizard is IMO one of the greatest live bands of all time

Yeah, sometimes live is a huge disappointment. I was a huge Jimmy Page fan for a long time, but when I looked up some videos of Led Zeppelin on youtube he was playing sloppier than me and he could hardly stand up.

But luckily most SRV videos are much better than that.

Sultans of swing, What it is are awesome as well.

There are others, but those are the ones that I never grow tired of.

:).

Cool first topic Stratbluesguy
OK for guitarist and song I will pick this one because the sound of Ritchie Blackmores Stratocaster together with his free style of playing live helped to refine the solid body electric guitar and it's cut through the mix in rock and roll for me post 60s.
