From the two Woodstock albums of the great festival of 1969, what is your favorite song? My song is "Theme For An Imaginary Western" performed by Mountain.

Bingo!
Leslie West doesn't get the credit he so well deserves.
I always loved Nantucket Sleigh Ride....but I don't think they did that one at Woodstock did they?

No, that was after the Climbing album. Climbing was out in 1970.

My favourite would have to be Jimi's Star Spangled Banner-when I saw Woodstock in the theatre Jimi had died but seeing him on screen he looked so god-like that you'd figure he was immortal.Even though I'm not American I got a huge lump in my throat when I watched him play it with such emotion and passion-truly the pinnacle of guitar playing. Next to Jimi I would have to say Alvin Lee playing I'm Goin' Home, Ten Years After's A Space In Time has to be one of the finest rock albums ever recorded.

Hey guitslinger; I saw Hendrix in July of 1970 before he cashed in his chips in Sept. I know what you mean, Jimi did the Star Spangled Banner into Purple Haze. I'll never forget that.

I would've loved to have seen Jimi live,he played in Toronto during the short while we lived there but my parents weren't about to let their 14 year old son go anywhere where there were"drug addled hippies".

All showmen have on and off shows. If Hendrix had an on night, I was so fortunate to see him on an extreme ON Night. INCREDIBLE. At Miami, Florida.

Sly & the Family Stone - I Want to Take You Higher, this band brought a heaping helping of soul to this rock festival

I got Larry Graham (bass player from Sly and the Family Stone) to autograph
my precision bass (see lower right). I also got Jack Casady (bass player from
Jefferson Airplane), another Woodstock alumnus, to autograph it (see lower left).

This is my main bass. I use this all the time.
