I met Rowdy Roddy Piper and Jerry Seinfeld once. I guest that doesn't mean I "know them" but they were both super cool.

It is AMAZING how idiotic people can act when they meet somebody "famous'...is it any wonder some celebs give people the cold shoulder?
Some people love the attention and some are really best left alone.
And if you do meet them, like has been said, try to act "normal".

I've met Marty Stuart had a very little chat and got his autograph on my 50th Ann. Strat and my Tele.I had a one on one conversation with Willie Dixon-he was an enormous man-not fat but Reeaallllll Big.We t5alked about the blues-of course and I asked him what he thought of Jimi's cover of Hoochie Coochie man and he thought it was cool and then I asked him if he had met Jimi he said"Man he was one strange cat...but he was cool." That's about it for my star run ins but I do have a very good friend whose been a close friend of Scotty Moore for years,I mentioned a while ago that Scotty asked Gibson to make a lefty version of his guitar for my buddy and they did,it's the mirror image of Scotty's.Oh yeah I friended Scotty on Face Book does that count?

Of all the famous or we'll say well known people I've met, the one person that sticks with my heart was Clayton Moore. THE LONE RANGER. This man was so well known, but he took the time do some lasso rope moves, and just talk to a bunch of young kids.
