I know people who've played in bands with the likes of B.B. King, Albert Collins, Muddy Waters etc. Now that I think about it I'm just one or two people removed from most of my major blues heroes. But I still don't actually know a lot of these big name people even if some of my friends do. So while it's unbelievably cool, I really can't say I know them. :)

Hi Mr. Miller.

I see your picture on your facebook, and I can see your still quite young (I am 49) so i will cut you some slack here, and If I may, pass along a dimes worth of free advice.

I have been lucky in my life to meet quite a few famous people, sport stars and so on, I don't need to drop names here because this is not the point I want to make here.
The main thing to remember if you get to meet anyone "Famous", remember, they put there paints on the same way you do, they tie there own shoes and they are just like everyone else on this blue ball.
Do not act like your meeting GOD, treat them with respect yes, but talk to them like you would one of your friends, don't act all stupid.

If you follow this advice, they (Most times) will want to talk with you.

Where is Tony when you need him?

I forget the guys handle, but he knew (and I don't mean passed them on the street) EVERYBODY and had pictures to prove it.

I met a ton of rock royalty when I lived in Cali. I'll spare you the list. :)

And I've met texasguitarslinger, so I'm just two or three degrees of separation away from all these guys!

Jeffytune is right. It's kind of pointless getting too terribly worked up over this. Celebrity worship is tricky business, and it can lead to disappointment. I've met celebrities who turned out to be really cool (e.g. Bill Murray, John 5, Penn & Teller) and others who turned out to be real jerks (e.g. a certain country legend whose name I won't mention, but it rhymes with Beeba Backintire.)

So if you meet Frampton, cool. Follow Jeffytune's advice and just relate to him as a person. And of course, a picture of yourself with him would be nice. 8)

It is AMAZING how idiotic people can act when they meet somebody "famous'...is it any wonder some celebs give people the cold shoulder?
Some people love the attention and some are really best left alone.
And if you do meet them, like has been said, try to act "normal".

No worries, now you know. :D As other people have said, just treat any famous person you meet as a normal person. Then you could get into a conversation or something really cool and you wouldn't be able to do that if you walked up to someone and fell at their feet in worship. And if you go to enough shows and play enough gigs eventually you're going to run into some people you really look up to. Most of the time they're going to be very nice, down to earth people. I'm very lucky, because so far I haven't met anyone who's been a jerk to me (yet).

Of course that said, it's really hard not to get star struck sometimes. A few weeks ago I was at Antone's and I was standing literally three feet away from Chris Layton (of Double Trouble, SRV's drummer) and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't so much as say hi to him even though I really wanted to. But I'd rather be struck speechless than to say something stupid, so I guess it was all right. :P
