okay, i know this is in the totally wrong forum and this may sound completely random, but i'm sure you all understand that this is the only forum i can trust.

okay, so i'm about 6'2, and weigh around 150 lbs. i'm pretty slim, and i'd like to build some muscle. i eat like a horse but since my metabolism is basically supercharged, i can't gain any fat to burn, so it's hard to build muscle. i also don't want to spend the money to join a gym, since i only make no more than $150/week, if i'm lucky. i do have some free weights though.

so i'd really appreciate it if anyone could give me a link to a site with a workout plan, maybe some tips on what to eat, etc. thanks a lot!

oh and to keep this guitar-oriented, i've been wondering what year do fender guitars become pre-CBS?

Slim fast. I know it sounds weird, but it works. Drink it in addition to your normal meals. "IMPORTANT don't stop eating, keep eating like normal". Cheap weight gainer. Had several friends use it with success.

1965 and before are pre cbs

wow. slim fast, really?? if it helps me gain weight, it's not very effective as a weight loss drink, is it? well, i'll give it a shot! i'll probably try to find a military workout online, like calesthenics or something.

and i thought the CBS thing happened in the 70s. interesting. well thank you very much, i appreciate it!

Take a look at second hand bookstores-you may find some weight training/body building books. The US Army used to have an excercise book ccalled the 5 BX Plan that was comprised of different exercises to build and tone muscles.BTW be careful not to overdo the weights,I found out only lately that the fairly intensive weight training that I did years ago was the culprit for the problem with my hands becoming painful and tiring easily.Over the years the muscles impinged on the nerves and muscles in my hands and forearms.BTW Boost drink is great for packing on the weight and pre '65 is pre CBS.

It only works to gain weight if you keep eating. It works for losing weight by replacing meals.

For starters drink plenty of water.

Find a grocery store that has a health food section. Get some protein powder ( Probably vanilla protien powder and usually about $7.00 a pound)

Have a blender?

Mix:

6 Ounces Yogurt (Vanilla is a good flavor for this)
6 Ounces of whole milk
1 Tablespoon of Protein Powder
1 Banana

Drink a couple of these a day.

For exercises:

Bicep Curls
Tricep Extensions
Pull ups
Push ups
Squats
Standing Calf Raises

These can be done with simple items found around the home. If you do an internet search for home workouts you will find lots of info on simple exercises.

Im 6'3" and when I was your age I was about 160 lbs. By 23 I was over 200 and now at the rip old age of 50 Im 270. You matabolism will slow down as you get older. I put on weight by drinking lots of whole milk. don,t worry about it. Its better to be thin than fat.

always a good site for workout tips, supplement info, etc.

If you are a hard gainer (have trouble gaining weight) carbs are the name of the game, along with calories. But make sure you up your carb intake (rice, potatoes, whole grain breads). One gram of protein per pound of body weight and 3 grams of carbs per pound of body weight .
