I know, I know, what more could I want? It's just that, to some degree, I just can't help seeing a big 'Made in China' tag hanging from it when I look at it!

May sound silly to some people, but as I said in the original post, for me, it really takes the edge of what is essentialy a perfectly good piece of equipment!

RUss, it doesn't sound silly at all. More people need to be thinking this way and buying only US made products whenever possible. Instead they complain about the US not producing anything and jobs going overseas as they get into their foreign car and buy goods without any concern of where it was made. I understand exactly where you are coming from. I try to buy USA made goods only if at all possible.

BCB, I don't think thats the point. It should be noted the OP is in the UK. Not the US.

I will be totally honest. I work hard for my money. I also find nothing wrong with gear if it is not made in the US. We, only have ourselves to blame for the current situation. I guess having European parents and being 1st generation American I am not a xenephobe thinking that only guitars or amps mad in the US are the best. Some of Fender's original luthiers were from Mexico. So to me it is where I can get the best quality for my dollar. Do I have issues with folks who buy US made instruments and amps only absolutely not. I think it is great to have that kind of loyalty.

Even if an amp is made in the US you can pretty well rest assured that the majority of the components were sourced from foriegn countries. Most high quality tubes and other electronic components such as resistors and capacitors come from overseas. So wherever your amp is made it will be largely imported components anyway.Fender is an American company but they choose to outsource their labour force as with a lot of companies as the dollar comes before allegiance. It doesn't really matter much to me where an amp or any product is made because whatever you buy today the components come from any number of countries. As long as a product is well made I don't care if it comes from another galaxy-although that would be cool.

The Fender Blackface Reissues Twin, Princeton, DRRI, Bassman, Deluxe and Champ are made in or at least assembled in the U.S.A.

The Super Sonics may be made here too though I'm not positive. The VM series, Hot Rods, Champ 600's, SCXD, Vibro Champs, and GDecs are made in Mexico or China.

Glad to hear some love coming for Carvin amps. I had a tweed Belair for years and now I have a V3 that I LOVE.

Hey guys,

Can any of you tell me which of the current smaller Fender amps are actually made in the USA?

It doesn't seem to have any mention of this on the Fender site and I'm not sure how I can find out which amp is made where?...

It's simple really. Click here: http://www.fender.com/products/search.p ... amplifiers
And these 3 catagories under 'Series' on the left hand side are currently US made: Pro Tube, Vintage Reissue, and Custom.

Now narrow it down to which US amp has the same power as a 15 watt Superchamp XD, and you get the ~12 watt '57 Deluxe. There ya go. It sounds nothing at all like the SCXD or has any of its features, but it's made in the USA. Or go smaller with the '57 Champ, or bigger with the '65 Deluxe Reverb.

Fender's US made amps use many of the same components (resistors, capacitors, wire, knobs, pots, etc, etc) that their Mexican and Chinese amps use....so if you want 100% US made Fender then find a vintage one from before the mid 70's or thereabouts (somebody please correct me if I'm wrong on that date). The question is 'how much are you willing to spend?'.
