current models, sheraton, dot, or the ibanez?

your opinion is important.

Personally, the Sheraton. I like them. They're nice guitars. Look at the Casino too. :D You need to do a serious comparison through a nice amp.

Funny thing is, I know a few people who have really beautiful guitars that never left the house or was ever used in a band situation. Some of these folks never ever played in a band or played outside the home. I'm never impressed by the price of the gear but more what the player can do with it.

These friends of mine do some pretty cool stuff with a cigar box "Lowbow" and some other low tech stuff. Their live sound is off the hook.

yeah im not big on what ya paid for it ya know.
ive been given stuff that was a cream dream, and
bought stuff that i later thought was garbage. it works both ways.
i have some stuff that aint worth a hill of beans on the market, but i love it.
i want a ES 335, but its not in the cards at this time but, i can still get a nice semi for now that sounds nice and plays great, for a good price.
thats the real goal with all this stuff anyways right?

AWRIGHT, AWRIGHT, AWRIGHT......enough of this pabalum.

Frankly I "get no wood" from a Sheraton, a Casino, or any 335-style guitar.

But an original Epiphone Wilshire Deluxe with the "bat-wing" headstock, bound ebony fretboard with MOP inlays, double mini-buckers, and "E" Bigsby tailpiece with the mahogany insert......now that's something I could sink my teeth into (along with a sizeable amount of "e pluribus unum"). Especially so in Pelham Blue!

Wilshire Deluxe very cool indeed. if you think vintage Strats are expensive, go for an original Wilshire. Amazing sounding guitars. If only we all knew then what we know now.....

BMW-KTM I think a lot of people just go to Guitar Center and pick up a Les Paul that's all beat up by a bunch of kids and instantly blame Gibson QC. I agree they do let some guitars out the door that they shouldn't but it's not like people say.

I don't even know how to respond to the statement you made about Epiphones build quality being better than Gibson. That is simply not true at all.

Yeah the maple caps on Epis are much thinner because the maple part is a paper thin veneer plastered on to some crappy mystery wood.

I am pretty simple...if I am playing something other than a solid body, this is my guitar of choice

The only mod I did was a Compton stainless steel compensated bridge. Epis are nice Gibby 335s are nice, but my taste goes with Gretsch. However, i would not turn away from a good deal on the afore mentioned..:)

Cool lookin Gretsch man. I really like the typical Gretch neck profile and of course the sound. Can't go wrong with a little Bigsby action either ;)

It's a free country. You are entitled to your opinion.

And so am I.

No harm. No foul.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
