I have seen a few movies lately and today I identified the cause of something that bugged me for weeks. I haven't seen a movie starring Steve McQueen for ages and all the newcomers are great at what they do but, he really died too young and I think that given the time, he could have blessed us with certainly a few great movies such as Bullit, The Sand Pebbles, Tom Horn and such. I think that he have been a great actor during his career and I don't want to compare him with anyone in the film industry because he was as good as any other actor since the beginning of cinema, and in my book, he was certainly better than a lot on succesfull action movie performers that we saw since his death. So this week I'm going to buy a few of the movies in which he played and threat myself Bullit proof style. Show your love for an actor/actress guys and gals, let them be known to us. :)

Thanks Claude, I really liked Steve Mcqueens' work too. When I thought about your question I thought about the cast of the Magnificent Seven all good actors of that generation.

I have heard it said that he insisted on doing his own driving in Bullitt as both and Paul Newman were accomplished drivers on the racetrack.

Bullitt and Junior Bonner are great films, but his "ensemble, all-star" flicks like The Magnificient Seven and The Great Escape are in my top ten favorites of all time.

Me I am a John Wayne fan!!!! He had too many great movies to mention. I was watching an old interview with Maureen O'Hara ( one sexy woman in her days) were she said no one wanted to make the movie TheQuiet Man and the only way they got it made was Wayne and OHara with John Ford directing had to promise a studio to make a western first which was Rio Grande. Then they went on to make The Quite Man. WOW!!!! A classic that no one wanted to make.

The Quiet Man...a great movie and one of my favorite character actors is in it,Victor McLaglen,...he played the brother of Maureen O'Hara who John Wayne brawls with in the end.
He was in lots of Wayne's movies and played a hard drinking Irishman in most.
He lived an adventurous life and had been in the British army in India among other things.
He's an all time favorite of mine.
