I was just curious if anyone has heard anything about Fender Friday's returning this year @ Musicians Friend. It was by far my favorite part of the week last year and there were some crazy deals.

I haven't heard anything. All I know is that they have no limit free shipping. Also, as far as Fender, they're giving a pedal tuner with select guitars. That's all I know.

I talked to MF and they said they were at the mercy of Fender and it depends on what Fender is trying to move. The free shipping is nice right now.

Yeah, the free shipping is awesome! Just got some strings and other stuff from there today.

Fender seems like it's been backed up with orders lately, especially when it comes to American made guitars. I doubt they're going to try to move anything like they did with the Fender Friday deals if they're lagging behind on the orders they already have.

However, if those deals came back I would in all likelihood buy a guitar this time around. I'm still kicking my butt for not waking up early enough to snag a Jimmie Vaughan Strat for $400. :x I had the money at that time too and everything. I haven't even been able to find a used one for that price since then.

There's one on my local CL for $450 I think, with a tweed case. I would consider buying it if it was a color other than the white. I like the white, but for that model I would rather have black or 2 tone sunburst.

I'm still torn between a JV strat and an American Special. When the time comes and I can find a good deal I'm going to have a very hard time choosing. And they both come in sunburst too. I might go for a white JV strat though, since American Specials don't come in white unless you get one from the evil empire.

Few days ago we had CS Roadshow in Toronto and there were some conversations on the topic. Fender guys were saying that production line is having a hard time keeping up with the orders for MIA standards and some artists lines. Same thing is happening in custom shop they are hoping to add more man power to keep up with demand.

I for one hope they bring it back...but I am not sure they will. We'll see.
