I searched the site and didn't find any replacement nuts, the guitar parts websites all have "replacement nuts for Fender bass guitars" but they all need to be slotted and shaped. I hesitate to ask M.E. because every time I ask the answer is "take it to a Fender licensed repair person", don't want to ask Brad because his specialty is the I.T. department. Feeling a bit like a spinning wheel.

put this on on my squire and works great
http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/guitar_nutsbrass.htm

thinking about this for my MIJ
http://www.guitar-parts.com/products/71 ... ER-NUT.htm

you could get the blank for cheap and have it cut by a local tech for about 30 bucks for your string size..... this is what my brother did... not cheaper by no means but an option...

Thanks for posting. The height adjustable brass nut is the part that I would like for my bass guitars, alas, those links are parts for guitars only.
