I was in an antique gallery today and look what came home with me. It is a Japanese made Fender Avalon. According to the inside SN it was made in 1989. Not a bad find for $89. It also came with a case and a crappy stand. For a "folk guitar" this thing sounds awesome. You never know what you are going to find in an antique gallery.

Great guitar and unbelievable price,it was probably made in the Fuji Gen factory if it sounds as good as you say it does because some absolutely stellar guitars came out of that factory.

Thanks. I felt kind of bad for the vender, almost like I stole it, but it was the price on the ticket so I jumped on it.

The think it sounds pretty good. It needed new string, but even with the crappy string on it I could tell it was a great sounding guitar. I played a few Fender acoustics the local shop I go to, not the expensive ones, just the ones that were between 100 and 200 dollars. This one sounds way better than any of them, especially with the new strings on it.
