I bought a new tuner and it worked once. Now it is reading string E as B. It reads string A,D,G, and B as the right strings. Just both E strings read wrong. Could it be the guitar cord, orsomething with the guitar itself?

Hi Keri: just to start with the obvious. I presume you have the volume turned up full on the guitar, the neck pickup selected and its tone control wide open? These things all help the tuner hear the note correctly.

Not remotely intending to insult your intelligence. I've been using a tuner for more years than I care to mention and I still sometimes wonder why it's not working, only to eventually look down and notice my volume knob on zero. D'oh!

Cheers Keri

mine works on batteries, when they get low it reads funny. the korg tuner that I got my son I had to blow into the mic area to get it to work again (reminds me of the nintendo days). I hope you wouldn't be that out of tune.

If it's a $5.00 tuner throw it away and buy a better one. 8)
