I used to have a Hendrix album, (vinyl) I think it was a soundtrack from some movie about Hendrix, I was a White Album Cover with Hendrix sitting on a barstool playing an acoustic, It wasn't a real photo but a painting like picture, and there was acoustic tunes on it. I think it was just called Jimi Hendrix, I can't remember the rest of the title. He did an acoustic version of Red House, a bunch of blues tunes. Man, I think I had that album back in 1981 thats how long it's been since I heard of it. Try to find a Hendrix Discography and I'm shure it will be listed. Great Album. 8) I just looked on wikipedia and there is an album "Black Gold" he recorded in his apartment in Grennwich Village with a martin guitar. I'm not certian that is the same album I was referring to but there has been a LOT of Hendrix Bootlegs out there until they got a handle on the rights to his estate. I also saw on there that his gravesite has been changed since I went there back in '92. There used to only be a flat headstone on the ground, noe there is a monument. Right On! it's about time. 8)

From this film:

Some good stuff in that movie. For sure it will be an album too - but might as well have the pictures to go with, no?

Cheers - C

The performance was filmed at Bruce Fleming's photo studio in London on 19 December 1967.

It appeared in Joe Boyd's movie about Jimi in 1973 (now available on DVD).

The track was released as a vinyl single on Reprise K14286 the same year (I have a copy).

It also appeared on the Blues album from 1994.

It is beautiful.

I have both the VHS Jimi Hendrix Movie and the 2 Album soundtrack the song was played on a one off 12 string and was what eventually became Hear My Train A Comin'.It was a great movie with interviews with Clapton,Townshend,Jagger and an outrageous interview with Pat Hartley who was Jimi's sometime girlfriend -when Devon wasn't around-and who was behind the Movie Rainbow Bridge. There were also interviews with Cathy Etchingham and Monika Danneman(Jimi's supposed girlfriend who was with him when he died and who commited suicide a few years ago.

Yeah, was that the movie where the two guys are sitting in Washington Square Park, Remembering Jimi, and they were telling about how much acid Jimi took, so they wanted some, He turned them on and they freaked because Jimi did about 5 times as much as they did? They thought he was a Superman. 8)

Wow, That a shame. They seem so animated when they were talking about him. I can't imagine what it must of been like to actually be hanging out with Jimi Hendrix. That is HUGE. 8)

Jimi's really close friend Paul Caruso-the guy refered to in EXP on the Axis album-related a story about Jimi's sometimes violent behaviour. One time while Jimi and Paul were talking Jimi asked Paul when was the last time that he felt anything,to which Caruso replied that he didn't know with that Jimi "hung one on his beak".Caruso understandably was furious and said"If you ever touch me again I'll kill you." to which Jimi replied"I'll always touch you."
