great. i'm without a very awesome amp for a couple of days, or weeks. I had a jam today with a shredder(which by the way, he was very good, we just played whatever, twas fun), as soon as we get to my place, i turn it on, doesn't work. no matter how loud i have it, doesn't work. we tried switching cables, everything and it didn't work. the strangest thing is, it turns on, it makes the slight humming sound there supposed to, but no sound!! my dads taking it to a guitar store on monday to get it fixed, but til then i'll have to play my fender amp

NO-O-O-O!?!

Riley, is this your new Orange amp that only just arrived? It came from far away, if I remember right. So a valve/tube damaged in transit, I bet. Sadly, that's going to cost you a few more bucks to make it playable again, I'm afraid. Still, easily fixed. You'll be rocking again in no time.

Meantime, playing your Fender amp ain't the end of the world is it? Silver lining...

Cheers - C

No valves. His amp is solid state with digital effects. Not much in the way of user serviceable parts in there I'm afraid.

Hey Riley - Some reviews of the Orange Crush series of amps say that the speaker connections are kind of loose. Take a peak in back of the amp and make sure the there are two wires snugly attached to the speaker.

If the issue is bigger than a simple fix, maybe the shop where you got it from will exchange it for a good one. It should still be under warranty.

Ah! thats the problem, i bet ya. i moved it about half an hour ago to its original place, turned it on to see if it would work, and suprisingly, it did kinda, but very very quiet. like, i had the master volume on full bull, and you could just hear it. so i turned it off again, waited, turned it back on, its gotten a bit louder. i'll have to see what its like in the morning. if its not being as loud as it should be, i'll have to have a look around in the amp :?

Ah, solid state is it? I'm not so familiar with Orange amps, so I stand corrected.

Do I remember right that this was an Ebay purchase? Was it new or "pre-owned"?

Let's hope it's the speaker wire thing, cos there's sometimes not much to be done with solid state amps when they go T/U. Fingers crossed.

Cheers - C

Then thankfully you have the warranty to fall back on, like metropolis74 says. That's good.

If it don't work perfectly, have it changed.

Anyway. How are the neighbors enjoying the sound of your Fender amp in the middle of the night? Crank it up, won't you? :D

Cheers - C

Well if it is a loose speaker connection, it's an easy fix. Hopefully that's all it is. Just make sure the 2 wires firmly attached to the 2 tabs on the speaker frame. Here is a generic pic of a speaker to get an idea of what the connections look like.

Riley,

That sucks. Hope it is just a loose connection and an easy fix. If not I hope you get the Orange Crush back soon.
