how many of you have a volume pedal on your board?
is it actually something you use or does it just take up space?
whats a good V pedal to buy?

I have one on my board since I need it sometimes for volume swells. Yes, I could just use the volume knob, but the pedal makes it easier.

Yeh I've got one, Dunlop I think it is, comes in handy. I've got a tone pedal as well, I don't use either that much but they come in useful when you want to keep your hands free.

I don't currently have a volume pedal but I've own a few in the past -- DeArmond, Ernie Ball, Sho-Bud. The Sho-Bud was the best.

I have the newish Fender volume pedal and only use it occasionally. I would not consider it an essential part of my kit but it can be useful.

I have an EB jr. on my board and I don't use it often. Mostly aggravating when I hit it accidentally and have to bring it back up. In retrospect I would not buy it. The only thing it is good for are swells when your hands are tied up. Nothing wrong with the product just depends on the music. If I had a longer pinky finger I wouldn't have it... :?

A volume pedal is a great addition to any pedal board.BTW George Harrison could never get the knack of using one and in songs like I Need You and Baby's in Black John did the swells manipulating the volume control on the guitar while George played his lead break.

I have owned the Ernie Ball and now I use a Visual Sound Volume pedal. It takes power but it displays your volume level by LEDs on the pedal.

Linked here: http://www.visualsound.net/index.php/pr ... ual_volume

I recommend it.

I've owned a few volume pedals over the years, but the best is definitely the Ernie Ball - heavy pedal, smooth operation... pure quality.

The only problem I tend to have is that I spend too much time with my right foot on the pedal and it makes my left leg ache! Just my bad habit, not the pedal's fault.
